C'est un environnement Multitâches très bien adapté au STE car peu gourmand autant en mémoire que sur le disque (le tout tiendrait sur une disquette haute densité).

Geneva est la couche multitache et NeoDesk le bureau associé. Ci-contre, le bureau de NeoDesk en ST Basse, avec image en fond d'écran, icones couleurs fenêtre nettement améliorées.
It's a multitasking environment suitable for the STE because it doesn't use a lot of RAM or disk space (it could fit on a high density floppy disk).

Geneva is the multitasking layer and Neodesk the associated desktop. Next you can see NeoDesk in ST Low resolution with color icons, background image and enhanced windows.


Un apperçu du bureau en ST Moyenne. Neodesk fait un usage des 4 couleurs! Ce bureau conserve un fichier INF par résolution, bien pratique pour personnaliser votre environnement. Les fenetres sont indépendantes et possèdent chacune leurs réglages et leur menu. On y trouve des boutons de duplication, de "select all" et d'affichage en icones ou textes. Le mouvement des ascenceurs modifie la fenetre en temps réel.
A view of the desk in ST Medium. Neodesk makes a good usage of the four colors. It can save a INFo file for each resolution so you can save the best settings according to the screen size. Windows are independant and each brings its menu and settings. You'll find unusual buttons like "duplicate", "select all", and icon or text view.




On est bien en multitâche: deux instances du programme LINES, le programme CLOCK et bien sur Neodesk. Malgré ces applications qui tournent, le bureau est encore réactif!
We are in multitasking: two instances of LINES and one of CLOCK and, of course, Neodesk. In spite of all those tasks running, the system still reacts correctly to the user's demands.




Forcément, en ST Haute Geneva et Neodesk donnent leur plein potentiel. J'ai lancé ASSEMBLE avec une fenetre d'édition, le jeu SUDOKU, le copieur Kobold, la fenêtre d'information vous montre qu'il reste plus de 2,4 Mo sur les 4Mo de RAM.

Voilà un tres confortable environnement de programmation dans lequel on conserve sa fenetre d'édition tout en accédant à d'autres documents ou programmes.
It's in ST High resolution that you get the full power of Geneva and Neodesk. I ran ASSEMBLE with a edition window, the game SUDOKU, the file manager Kobold and you can see that, in the informations window, more than 2,4 MB are still free!

It's a very powerful programming environment where you can keep you editing window open while accessing to other documents of programs.
